Kauai is home to one of the most diverse landscapes in the world, from tropical rainforests to desert climates. Kauai Nursery & Landscaping has always worked with the understanding that the key to good design is to know and appreciate the plant material and microclimates within which we work.
KNL is committed to sustainable design through the use of native Hawaiian plants, utilization of local labor and materials, sensitivity to surrounding landscapes, utilizing new irrigation technologies to conserve water, and explaining the importance of these methods to the people of Kauai.
KNL’s design and installation experiences range from resort, hotel, and subdivision development to public projects, commercial properties as well as private residences and estates. Past design projects have included water features, native Hawaiian gardens, irrigation, and hedge installation. KNL designs and builds drainage systems, erosion control, windbreaks, orchards, and can assist with agriculture planning.
KNL's landscape designers have extensive experience creating landscapes with Kauai’s rich diversity of plant materials. Our design staff consider themselves stewards of the land first and foremost, which enables them to transform your vision into an ideal design that meets your needs (and budget) while taking into account how your landscape connects to and enhances its surrounding environment and natural systems. KNL provides consultation and estimating services through our design department. Naturally, if we design your landscape, we will provide you with a cost estimate for your project. If you have an existing design and need updated pricing, we offer that as well. KNL can provide professional design or professional advice for those clients who prefer to do the work themselves. KNL employs arborists who can evaluate the trees you love and irrigation specialists to ensure your irrigation system is set as efficiently as possible. KNL is capable of handling any landscaping project. Previous projects have included concrete work, lava rock walls, low-voltage lighting, paver walkways and patios, retaining walls, and more. KNL has the equipment and experienced operators, installation crews, and technicians to get the job done.
